You have a medium network, it can help you. You'll also find some mid-level opportunities listed on job boards. π
Senior Career π
You have a huge network, that is your go-to place to find opportunities. Job boards will likely be "meh" for you. π
The best place to find job opportunities depends on where you are in your career. π
Job boards work…until they don’t. π¬
What worked at 22 won’t work at 42. π
Early in your career, your network is likely small. πΆπ
On the other hand, there are a ton of entry-level opportunities posted on job boards. π―πΌ
When you’re mid-career, your network is likely not huge, and decent. π€π
At the same time, there are some mid-level opportunities posted on job boards. βοΈπ
When you’re at a senior level in your career, your network is likely huge. ππ
However, there are likely very few senior-level opportunities posted on job boards. ποΈπ

If you’re job searching early in your career, spend some time on job boards. π₯οΈβ
If you’re senior level in your career, focus almost all your time on your network. ππ€
If you’re mid-way through your career, do both. β‘π
It’s not a perfect science.
However, if you’re not getting as much traction in your job search as you want, you might be looking in the wrong places for where you’re at in your career. π―β
