Choosing Opportunity
Feb 16, 2025
"TO" keeps you stuck.
"FOR" moves you forward.
When life throws punches, it’s easy to ask:
❌ Why did this happen TO me?
“Why did the layoff happen to me?”
“Why did the breakup happen to me?”
“Why is this struggle happening to me?”
“Why did the loss happen to me?”
Totally understandable. Also optional.
As my coach Steve Chandler might say, that question puts us in victim mode—like life is just out to get us.
What if we flipped it?
âś… Why did this happen FOR me?
“Why the layoff for me?”
“Why the breakup for me?”
“Why the struggle for me?”
“Why the loss for me?”
“TO” traps us in the problem.
“FOR” shifts us to the opportunity.
And there’s always both. Always.
The real power move? Choosing opportunity.
