It’s the formula people use to answer behavioral interview questions:
Situation
Task
Action
Result
Sounds neat ๐งผ Too neat.
My issue? The “T” ๐งฉ
Why does there have to be a task?
Why assume someone had to assign it before you took action?
That’s not leadership — that’s compliance ๐
Real work is messy ๐ฅ
Real impact doesn’t come with instructions ๐ฆ
And often, there’s no “T” in sight ๐ต๏ธโ๏ธ
So skip STAR.
Go with SAR:
Situation: things got wild ๐ช
Action: I stepped up ๐
Result: here’s what changed ๐
No waiting for orders. No checklist. Just initiative โก
In your next interview, don’t answer like someone who followed the plan ๐
