What If Your Insanity Isnβt Crazy Enough?
Jul 19, 2025
What if your insanity…
Isn’t crazy enough.
Einstein is said to have said:
“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.”
Okay.
So what’s sanity then?
Maybe it’s doing something different
that involves finally getting what you actually want.
Because most of the time…
you’re not broken.
You’re just running a system.
And that system?
Is producing exactly what it’s built to produce.
As W. Edwards Deming put it:
π “Every system is perfectly designed to get the results it gets.”
So if your job search is going nowhere...
If your inbox feels like a ghost town πΈοΈ...
If your career keeps looping the same story π…
The issue isn’t effort.
It’s the system (nod to Steve Chandler and Trevor Timbeck on this)
And your brain hates changing the system.
Why?
Because it doesn’t know the difference between a layoff and a lion π¦.
An awkward follow-up and a saber-toothed tiger π
.
To your nervous system, different = danger β οΈ.
So it whispers...
“stay safe”
“stay small”
“stay stuck”
No thanks.
If you want different results,
you want to be a little crazy.
The right kind of crazy.
π Crazy enough to try something new
π Crazy enough to break your pattern
π Crazy enough to trust change more than comfort
Because even though different doesn’t guarantee better...
It does guarantee different.
And that’s where possibility lives β¨.
