Your Ears Are Powerful

“Me too?”

Read this.

In coach training, I learned something I still think about every day:

🎧 There are 3 levels of listening.
 And most people never get past Level I.

👂 Level I — It’s about you.
You’re technically listening — while crafting your next line.
“It’s the Oh, me too!” level.
You grab the spotlight back.
You respond — without really receiving.
All too common. Not great.

⚙️ Level II — It’s about them.
You drop the act.
Less inner monologue. Less distraction.
You’re fully with them — and they feel it.
This is where empathy begins.
This is where coaching lives.

🌪️ Level III — It’s about everything.
You don’t just hear words.
You feel shifts.
Tone. Tension. Silence.
You call out what’s unspoken.
You name what others won’t.
This is deep presence.
This is power.

Level III has no ceiling.
No finish line.
More depth. More truth. More connection.

Because when someone feels truly heard —
Not nodded at.
Not “me too’d.”
Heard?
Everything changes.
